I was smiling, thinking I had this one finally licked.ĭid a manual regeneration (10 minute backwash, 8 minute air charge. I cut it down flush to the top of the tank, vacummed out any little bits of PVC, and reassembled the valve - but this time I DID apply the silicone lube to the seals and piston. ![]() I removed the valve from the tank and made preparations to cut down the riser (see pic below). I was excited that I found something here, but that was to be short lived. how did I miss that? when I built the riser I purposely had it extend about 1" above the tank - I thought that was the spec. I had not thought of that before, so last night I opened it up again, took out the seals & spacers, and low & behold - he was right! the bottom spacer was in fact resting on top of the riser tube. ![]() ![]() So in chatting offline with another forum member he suggested I check to make sure the riser tube was not interfering with the spacers/seals (since I recently did a media change, and this leaking problem showed up right after). I'm continuing to provide updates for the benefit of others who may be battling the some problems.
